Tankie,
Beer goggles and whisky goggles make some men think that women look better than they do. For others, they simply don't care that the women look bad. However, in either case, they are still women. Hilldog is a whole different animal. Sincerely, Concerned Friend.

Hehehehehe . . . . . . whoops. I'm not one to be laughing. Now would someone please tell me why in America you have to be 21 to buy alcohol? It doesn't stop me from getting it, I juts end up having to ask my mother or father to buy it for me every time. I mean come on. Lower the age limit to like 16 and watch the economy go up from alcohol sales. |

Hillary Clinton officially declared she's not a lesbian - not that there's anything wrong with that.
During an interview with The Advocate to be published next week, Sean Kennedy, the gay magazine's news and features editor, asked the presidential candidate, "How do you respond to the occasional rumor that you're a lesbian?" "People say a lot of things about me, so I really don't pay any attention to it," Sen. Clinton (D-N.Y.) replied. "It's not true, but it is something that I have no control over. People will say what they want to say." Kennedy told the Daily News he's convinced. "I 100% believe she's a straight, heterosexual woman," he said. Hillary Clinton: I'm not a lesbian |

I am not entirely convinced that the Democrats will win next year.
I think that despite the GOP moving right, they have not moved as far off center as the Democrats have moved left. For starters, MoveOn.org probably has done more to help the GOP than to harm them by basically telling moderates that they are not welcome in the Democratic party. The best thing the GOP has done is to move away from the Christian Right, which was the doppleganger of MoveOn. The Democrats would be well served to move closer to the center, as they did in the last congressional election. That Sen. Clinton is attempting to paint herself as a moderate shows that she is cognizant of this. However, she still needs the dollars, and the dollars come from the fringe groups like MoveOn. |

army,
good post. i would love to see the republicans reach back to their old roots as fiscally conservatives and social libertarians. by getting into bed with the religious/social conservatives, the republicans did a good spit in the face to their belief in small government. i will be far more comfortable with the republican party once the religious right has been cast out for good. one of the curses of this whole thing is that in doing so, there has been a revival of a religious LEFT, and that i'd rather not see, either. give unto caesar what is caesar's and give unto god what is god's!

And what roots do you speak of? Fiscal conservative roots, sure, to an extent. But social libertarian roots? The breed didn't exist before Goldwater.
