Tankie,

Beer goggles and whisky goggles make some men think that women look better than they do. For others, they simply don't care that the women look bad. However, in either case, they are still women. Hilldog is a whole different animal.

Sincerely,
Concerned Friend.

I would not vote for another (both) Clinton if I were being water-boarded! I fear she will win election and gain Congress at the same time. That is one huge fear. T

In sooth good Trooth! Gender will not matter any more than it did with Maggie Thatcher. Get rid of the silly Royals and don't worry about our election. T

Hehehehehe . . . . . . whoops. I'm not one to be laughing.

Now would someone please tell me why in America you have to be 21 to buy alcohol? It doesn't stop me from getting it, I juts end up having to ask my mother or father to buy it for me every time. I mean come on. Lower the age limit to like 16 and watch the economy go up from alcohol sales.

Too many dead people on the highways and byways. Essentially, drinking and driving stats were used to help drive it up to 21 and keep it there.

Hillary Clinton officially declared she's not a lesbian - not that there's anything wrong with that.

During an interview with The Advocate to be published next week, Sean Kennedy, the gay magazine's news and features editor, asked the presidential candidate, "How do you respond to the occasional rumor that you're a lesbian?"

"People say a lot of things about me, so I really don't pay any attention to it," Sen. Clinton (D-N.Y.) replied.

"It's not true, but it is something that I have no control over. People will say what they want to say."

Kennedy told the Daily News he's convinced. "I 100% believe she's a straight, heterosexual woman," he said.

Hillary Clinton: I'm not a lesbian

I am not entirely convinced that the Democrats will win next year.

I think that despite the GOP moving right, they have not moved as far off center as the Democrats have moved left. For starters, MoveOn.org probably has done more to help the GOP than to harm them by basically telling moderates that they are not welcome in the Democratic party. The best thing the GOP has done is to move away from the Christian Right, which was the doppleganger of MoveOn. The Democrats would be well served to move closer to the center, as they did in the last congressional election.

That Sen. Clinton is attempting to paint herself as a moderate shows that she is cognizant of this. However, she still needs the dollars, and the dollars come from the fringe groups like MoveOn.

army,

good post. i would love to see the republicans reach back to their old roots as fiscally conservatives and social libertarians. by getting into bed with the religious/social conservatives, the republicans did a good spit in the face to their belief in small government.

i will be far more comfortable with the republican party once the religious right has been cast out for good. one of the curses of this whole thing is that in doing so, there has been a revival of a religious LEFT, and that i'd rather not see, either.

Hmph. Of course many of my fellow religious members of the V.R.W.C. can often be very annoying, foolish, and unhelpful, but we ain't always bad.

And what roots do you speak of? Fiscal conservative roots, sure, to an extent. But social libertarian roots? The breed didn't exist before Goldwater.
