I picked Mitt Romney because from what I know so far he's got some executive experience (former governor of Massachussetts), has suitably conservative credentials, and seems to be politically adept.

But it's way to early for me to zero in on a definite yet.

He's not an official candidate yet, and he's already polling VERY strong.

Didnt vote. I understand John MCain is the only one with military experience.
Having a game plan for sucess is one thing and Im sure all parties involved have their own ideas/plans. But one of the filiters these people will have to go through in the end is...How will you defend the U.S. AND ITS RESPONSIBILITIES? That seems to be one of the questions that will need to be addressed by all involved. I can wait to hear some of these answers expecially from the likes of Clinton and Obama and others alike from the Dem parties.

I myself am still waiting to see what Fred Thompson will do or if he will go the distance before it becomes to late.

How do the polling numbers for him bear out though? Pure name recognition versus skills and capability?

I agree. I've researched him, and he is very impressive.

He's a REAL conservative, and one that packs a great record of performance.

He may not be as good a leader as Guiliani, but he's got his mind right about gun rights, and he doesn't think public funding of abortions is in the Constitution.
He's not as much of a choirboy as Romney, but he's at least honest enough not to pander for votes; he doesn't say he's something he's really not.
He doesn't have military experience like McCain, but he wouldn't have voted for limits on political speech if you put a gun to his head, and he'd never make disastrous deals with the opposition party that screw forever any hope of returning the Supreme Court to rationality.
He's as close as we're going to come to Reagan, and By Gawd, that's what we need right now.

I voted for Mitt Romney. Seems the best out of the current field, though I admit he panders more than almost anyone else I've seen

I like Fred Thompson the best, so I hope he throws his hat in the ring. He's "Reaganesque" and has a solid background and no notable scandals that I've heard about.

Next, I like Mitt Romney. He seems to have good values and again, has no notable scandals. So what if he's Mormon. He's only had ONE wife, unlike the other candidates!
