If Olmert just keeps the border settlement blocs then there should be no problems, but if he decides Israel should hang onto Ariel and the Jordan Valley, there will be MAJOR problems. The writer's stupid notions about negotiations are about 6 years out of date. Israel is not withdrawing because it thinks the Palestinians will be grateful and willing to negotiate, Israel is withdrawing to maintain its Jewish majority, fortify the places that are essential to national security, and get the world off of its back. If the Palestinians want any more concessions they will have to recognize Israel's right to exist and renounce terrorism. With Hamas unwilling to do those things, even the EU has said they will seriously consider Olmert's plan (as though they have a say in the matter). There will be a Palestinian state, but its borders will be drawn by Olmert. I really hope he doesn't actually want to stay in Ariel and the Jordan valley though...that kind of defeats the purpose of withdrawing in the first place.
