No army on earth can do what the Americans do constantly in Force Protection. We don't have the money to buy and send tanks everytime we have deploy a battle group. Even the Americans can't do it in the scope that they like as now, they have tankers doing patrols in jeeps in Baghdad.
As economic necessity goes, we're more British than Americans and apply selective use of force rather than an outright brute strength. IE, we use counter-snipers to take out snipers rather than to use a tank to blow the building up.
