We have plenty of Mongol successors after the Khanates. Nanking, Hong Kong, Stalingrad, Berlin, Somme, Armenia, Rwanda, Pol Pot's Cambodia, Grozny I and II, the KMT's purging of the Communists in Shanghai, the Chinese Communist Party's Long March, the Boat People, the Iran-Iraq War, the Taiping Rebellion, the Final Solution, ... don't need the Mongols.
