The debt service is $1.4 billion a year, not to mention all the future projects that need to be funded. The average salary of a MTA worker is over 50% greater than the median NYC income and is nearly three times the starting salary of a NYPD officer. They wanted guaranteed annual 8% raises. No tears from me here. However, whatever raise they do get now will be spent on the increased TWU union fees to pay off all the fines they're getting for the illegal strike.

All unions are now are a legalized mob. You pay your mob (union) protection money whether they do anything for you or not.
