Not any more unfortunately. I grew up amongst those mountains and even climbed a few, but now I live in the north Island which is mostly a lot flatter (it's where the work is) but I'm trying to find a way of shifting back down there so I can give my kids the same things I had when I grew up. Having said that, the few mountains there are in the North Island
are interesting. I was on this mountain (Ruapehu) when it did this
