ScramShells. Guided ScramShells= The Future

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...1334/Pratt.jpg

The text as is follows (shortened)

Pratt & Whitney's initial analysis of a scramjet-powered, 16-inch gun-launched projectile (Hypershell)
indicates that a range of approx 400 nm, a time to target of 9 minutes and an impact velocity
of 2,800 feet per second is feasible.

Hypershell would combine the technology and resources of the current P&W hydrocarbon
scramjet (a flightweight, missile-sized engine is currently at test) the previous experience
from HARP (A scram jet powered projectile from a 16-inch gun), and currently abailable
assets such as the 16-inch gun at the U.S Army Yuma Proving Grounds. Also we plan to
solicit the help of experts such as Dr. Dennis Reilly.
