Communal violence keeps coming back to haunt India over and over. As yourself argued, the Hindu-Muslim divide is the basic campaigning tool of every general elections process. It's deep entrenched. Hindus on WAB have also voiced how the Muslims are given special provisions, which makes the Hindus feel left out. Right or Wrong, things are very much sour.
At least 4 out of 6 decades have seen riots and communal violences, in India where thousands got killed each time.
